When should you get new running shoes?

New running shoes may be necessary after 3-6 months or 300-500 miles. This is necessary to prevent injury.

What is the best way to recover after a race?

Make sure you hydrate, get the proper nutrition, stretch and perform a good cool down. After a big race it may be important to have a 1-2 week rest period, performing lighter exercise or a variation in exercise to give your body a rest from the training you incurred for the race.
